CAPACITY BUILDING/TRAINING ON DESIGN OF EXPERIMENTS AND ASPEN HYSYS

Project Overview

In fulfillment of its mandate to strengthen research and development capacity for industrial raw materials processing and utilization, the Pilot Plant and Process Equipment Division (PPPED) of the Department of Research and Demonstration Plant Complex (RDPC) successfully organized a two-day Capacity Building and Training Workshop on Design of Experiments and Aspen HYSYS.

The training, held from April 2–3, 2025, was implemented as the First Quarter High Impact Project of the Division. It was designed to enhance the technical competence of staff in process design, optimization, and simulation techniques—critical components for efficient pilot plant operations and process development.

Participants were exposed to modern methodologies in experimental design and simulation using Aspen HYSYS, a leading process modeling software widely applied in industrial process analysis and optimization. The sessions provided hands-on experience, improving the participants’ ability to model, analyze, and optimize chemical and industrial processes with precision and efficiency.

The training directly supports the Council’s mandate of promoting industrial growth through applied research, process innovation, and technology transfer, thereby strengthening RMRDC’s role in national industrial development.
