DEVELOPMENT AND PRODUCTION OF WEB-OFF SET INK

It has been estimated that over one billion Naira is required to meet the annual demand of web-off set ink in the country.  Available statistics reveal that about 182 metric tons of web offset ink is consumed annually by newsprint industry alone. To address this challenge, the Council, in collaboration with a company in Lagos produced web-off set ink using 80% local raw materials. The industrial testing was carried out and the result showed that the locally produced ink was comparable to imported brands. The technology has been patented and ready for full-scale commercialization.
